About RJ Motorcycles

Right in the heart of England

RJ Motorcycles was established in 1976 to provide spares, servicing, repairs and complete rebuilds for British motorcycles including BSA, Norton, Triumph, AJS and Matchless. In the early days the shop was known for the bespoke construction of Norton featherbed based cafe racers using 650SS, Atlas and Commando engines, these being built to the customers specification. A MOT facility was added a few years later resulting in the addition of spares and servicing for Japanese and Italian machines.

Off to the races!

In the early 1980s the shop went racing and was proud to sponsor Rob Sewell who riding a Norton Dominator, had enormous success in vintage events and the ‘Battle of the Twins’ series.

Fame at last! – 1982

RJ Motorcycles was the subject of a Classic Bike magazine article in 1982. Youthful looking business partners Rod and ‘Click’ both gave a good account of themselves and their aspirations for the shop.
